The Rose Institute Appoints Jacinth Sohi ’11 to its Board of Governors
Claremont, CA — The Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) announces the appointment of Jacinth Sohi to its Board of Governors. Sohi’s addition to the Board showcases her exceptional accomplishments and commitment to enhancing public policy and governance.
A 2011 graduate of CMC, Sohi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Rose Institute’s board. Her background is characterized by a passion for building and scaling innovative initiatives in products and operations, starting her career with Google before beginning work with Uber.
“I am delighted to join the Rose Institute Board of Governors. Claremont McKenna students are deep thinkers, and the Rose exemplifies a curiosity for learning through researching quantifiable data and the impact of real-world policy outcomes,” Sohi said. “I look forward to the opportunity to have a seat at the table, supporting the work of students and staff.”
Sohi’s career is characterized by contributions to organizations that leverage boots-on-the-ground initiatives. As co-founder and COO of Resistance Labs, Sohi helped leverage technology and remote volunteers to support largely down-ballot political campaigns across the country; the organization sent over 11 million texts in 2018 across 50 states. During the pandemic, she led product for Frontline Foods, a non-profit that raised over $7.9 million in funding to support local restaurants and feed frontline workers over 350,000 meals in 55 cities. Sohi most recently served as director of member experience at Found in San Francisco and is currently advising early-stage start-ups and angel investing.

As a student, Jacinth was a leader on campus; I have no doubt of the positive impact she will bring to the board.”
As a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major with a Leadership sequence, Sohi provided leadership to a number of organizations as an undergraduate at Claremont McKenna. She served as student manager of the Rose Institute, president of the CMC Mock Trial team, a copy editor of the Claremont Portside, and founder of the CMC Moot Court program. Sohi currently resides in San Francisco.
The Rose Institute’s Board of Governors provides strategic advice to the Institute and works closely with its faculty and students. The Board includes government officials, consultants, election lawyers, business leaders, and journalists.
“Jacinth has been active with the Board as the alumni representative for several years, and we are proud to extend her service to the Rose as a member of the Board of Governors. She has both a passion for the private tech sector and public policy matters that will serve our students, faculty, and projects at the Rose,” said Ryder Todd Smith ’96, chair of the Rose Institute’s Board of Governors.
