UPDATED: Oakland leads all CA Cities among remaining CA redistricting applicants

The 36 remaining applicants for California’s redistricting commission hail from 30 different cities from across the state. As the Auditor prepares to randomly select the first eight Commissioners on Thursday, Oakland leads the pack with 3 remaining applicants. Mountain View, Sacramento, San Francisco and Santa Monica each have 2 remaining applicants. Twenty-five cities have one remaining applicant each.

Among the 12 remaining applicants in the Democratic pool are 2 from Oakland, 2 from San Francisco, and 1 each from Arcadia, El Cerrito, Los Angeles, Los Osos, Mountain View, San Gabriel, San Ramon, Santa Paula and Signal Hill.

Among the 12 remaining Republicans are 2 from Sacramento and 1 each from Anaheim, Capitola, Claremont, Mountain View, Norco, Orangevale, Palmdale, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Monica.

Finally, among the 12 remaining “Other” party candidates are 1 each from Berkeley, Carmichael, Castro Valley, Culver City, Esparto, Eureka, Fresno, Inglewood, Lafayette, Oakland, Santa Monica, and Stockton.

11/19/2010 UPDATE: One of the remaining applicants in the Democratic pool, Maria Blanco, moved after filing her initial application. She now resides in the city of Los Angeles. She was originally listed as living in El Cerrito (in Contra Costa County).
