Rose Institute Conference and Materials

The Rose Institute of State and Local Government cordially invites you to a presentation and discussion regarding our latest report on California’s 2011 redistricting and the new Citizens Redistricting Commission.

The conference, ”Changes and Challenges facing the Citizens Redistricting Commission,” will be held at the California Dental Association Rotunda (1201 K Street) in Sacramento on December 8, 2010, from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. The conference will address the following issues:

  • Population projections for Congressional, State Senate, Assembly and Board of Equalization districts [Mike Whatley (Rose Institute)]
  • What the projected numbers will mean for redistricting [Tony Quinn]
  • Criteria and Public Outreach rules and options for the Commission [Douglas Johnson and Ken Miller (Rose Institute)]
  • The Federal Voting Rights Act and the Citizens Redistricting Commission [Marguerite Leoni]
