Southern California Almanac

Welcome to the Southern California Almanac. Developed by the Rose Institute of State and Local Government, the Almanac is an interactive online almanac of cities, counties, and their governments. The Institute has carefully gathered data over the course of several months and sought to visualize useful datasets about California localities and their leaders: elected officials’ contact information, brief biographies, salaries; city government size, structure, and spending; and general city data such as population, ethnicity, top employers, and taxable retail sales.

The goal of this research was to provide an easy-to-use resource that allows Californians to learn more about their communities and to become better-informed participants in the political process. We encourage you to take advantage of it. Please send any feedback to roseinstitute@cmc.edu.
