Rose website tracks CA population growth by block group

The Rose Institute today launched a new online interactive web application showing population growth in California from 2000 to 2010. The site shows the data at the block group level of geography. Anyone interested can zoom in or out to different areas, or enter an address to go directly to that location.

Note that the Census Bureau added, subtracted, and realigned some block groups between 2000 and 2010. The data rely on the 2000 to 2010 relationship file provided by the Census Bureau. If you spot any problems with the relationship information provided by the Bureau, please email us at roseintitute@cmc.edu and we will investigate the concern and make any adjustments necessary.

This map was prompted by a request to the public for such data from a member of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission. If you have any similar map requests or suggestions, please offer them as comments below.
