Doug Johnson was recently quoted in the Whittier Daily News on the subject of how the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority allocated the county’s share of transportation stimulus funds. Johnson believes the money could be much better used by the MTA:
The MTA should not have allocated $500,000 in stimulus money to small cities in the first place, said Doug Johnson, a fellow at Claremont McKenna College’s Rose Institute for State and Local Government.
“The MTA has always had their (project) priority list,” Johnson said. “The real mystery is why they didn’t just put it all on their priority list from the very beginning.”
