The Rose Institute is hiring five to ten freshmen or sophomore research assistants. Opportunities for student employees include working closely with faculty who are leading experts in state and local public policy, gaining impressive professional credentials, meeting with clients, contributing to widely recognized research, and developing the technical skills to create professional publications and presentations.
The Rose Institute hopes to both educate and nurture students for their entire careers at Claremont McKenna College. Most students joined the team as freshmen and will spend up to four years at the Rose Institute (with time off for off-campus study, if desired).
During the 2012-2013 academic year, students at the Rose Institute managed and developed projects in a variety of public policy areas: They scripted and filmed a voter education video series; researched legal challenges to ballot initiatives; compared business taxes and fees in more than 300 cities on the West Coast for the annual Kosmont-Rose Institute Cost of Doing Business Survey; reviewed city election practices; and analyzed demographic shifts that resulted from the latest round of congressional redistricting through Redistricting in America.
We look forward to receiving your application.
