Rose Fellow Douglas Johnson was quoted in a recent article at The Hill on Freshman House of Representatives member Bobby Schilling, a Republican from Illinois. Published on February 14, the article tells Schilling’s story, how he went from being a union representative to a financial planning consultant to a pizzeria owner to a politician. The article is a part of The Hill‘s “New member of the week” series.
Johnson is quoted in the section of the article discussing the difficulties that Schilling will likely face in 2012. Illinois will lose a congressional seat to reapportionment and with Democrats controlling both the State Legislature and governorship, Republicans in weaker districts could become a target of redistricting. Johnson says, “If I were any Republican in Illinois, I would be worried.”
