The Rose Institute was cited in a recent editorial published by the Merced County Star. Titled “Our View: Redistricting politics are now diluted,” the article was published on December 22nd, 2010. It concludes that thanks to the new redistricting system put in place in California, redistricting will likely be a more fair and less gerrymandered process.
The article reads, “a study by the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna College suggests that because of significantly higher population growth, inland areas of the Central Valley and Southern California will pick up legislative seats under the “one person, one vote” rule that controls redistricting.”
