Employees of the city of Claremont, where the Rose Institute is located, recently agreed to some key cost saving measures for this year that will help the city avoid dire straits according to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Employees represented by six unions and associations agreed to forgo their cost-of-living increase for the year as well as some other compensation and perks due to the economic downturn. Combined the city will save $1.16 million, which is a significant portion of its expected $2 million dollar hole for the year.
