The Wall Street Journal had an article on Saturday about quotes and clips from the democratic primary that are being brought up again by the Republican National Committee to use against Obama. Pitney had this to say on the subject:
But this year’s campaign will offer a particularly large trove for Republican researchers, given its unusually long duration. “The bigger the window, the more mud that can go through it,” said John Pitney, a former deputy director of research at the Republican National Committee and professor of government at Claremont McKenna College. The rapidly expanding use of online video, even since 2004, will accelerate the circulation of such footage in 2008.
