CA Redistricting Language After Prop 20

The Rose Institute has compiled an up-to-date and unmarked version of the post-Prop 20 rules on redistricting for California.

Proposition 20, passed by California voters in November 2010, added the task of re-drawing congressional district boundaries to the commission created by Proposition 11 and narrowed the definition for “community of interest.” These changes to the redistricting language in California came in addition to Prop 11’s statutory provisions governing the commission’s selection process, public meetings, and budget, which were added to Chapter 3.2 of the Government Code.
