Redistricting Roundup: New Prop. 93 Editorials UPDATEDx2

The Vallejo Times-Herald editorial for Proposition 93:

And, Prop 93 doesn’t do anything to address the bone of contention that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger deems the biggest evil of state politics – political entrenchment through redistricting. But all flaws cannot be addressed in one measure, and the earliest redistricting can occur is after the 2010 census anyway.

The Morgan Hill Times says:

Despite concerns that legislators still have not passed redistricting reform, and that Prop 93 contains special exemptions that exempt 42 currently termed-out legislators, a majority of our board believes that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks Vote yes on Prop 93.

Meanwhile, the Red Bluff Daily News says:

California’s redistricting process, which currently allows lawmakers to choose their voters, instead of the other way around, has always been the real culprit in creating the current one-party domination of the legislature. Unfortunately, because of the current leaders’ broken promise of delivering redistricting reform, there is no redistricting plan on the horizon. Further, as voters learn we’re being sold a false bill of goods by self-serving political elites, the support for Proposition 93 evaporating.

UPDATE:
