Rose Institute Mentioned Twice in San Diego Union Tribune

Today’s San Diego Union Tribune online mentioned the Rose Institute in two separate articles.  In an article about Congressman Brian Bilbray’s (R-50) 2010 reelection prospects:

Squaring off against Busby is Solana Beach Councilman Dave Roberts (no, not the former Padres ballplayer), whose ability to raise funds ($153,000 in the last quarter) prompted the Rose Institute, a government watchdog group associated with Claremont McKenna College, to call him “probably the strongest challenger” to Bilbray

In an article about 2011 Congressional redistricting in San Diego County:

“The big question is whether the Democrats who will largely control this process will want to go after Bilbray’s seat and make it more winnable for them or whether they will focus on protecting the ones they have,” said Douglas Johnson, a redistricting expert at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna College. “If they try to pick up as many seats as they can, they would probably go after Bilbray.”
